CHIEF CLINICAL OFFICER
A pioneering leader in behavioral health care, Dr. Schechter has devoted two decades of service at the helm of Achieve. Thanks to his dedication and commitment, Achieve has grown from a mere concept to an acclaimed Behavioral Health system. Much more than a clinical psychologist, Dr. Schechter has played a pivotal role in revolutionizing, increasing and popularizing behavioral health services within the Orthodox Jewish community, both locally and nationally. In addition to his groundbreaking clinical leadership, Dr. Schechter trains and supervises hundreds of psychologists and social workers from within the community and is a sought-after international lecturer on a broad range of topics.
Dr. Schechter is also the Founder of the Institute for Applied Research and Community Collaboration (ARCC) which studies the health, behavioral health and social issues in the Orthodox Jewish community.
CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER
A team member at Achieve from its early years as Bikur Cholim, Aaron has risen through the ranks to his position as CEO thanks to his dedication to the community’s welfare and his ongoing quest for expanded behavioral health services. Aaron’s breadth of knowledge and pursuit of excellence has connected the community to broader resources and systems of care. Under his guidance Achieve has gained wide acclaim as a leader in behavioral health and the coveted federal status of CCBHC- Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic.
Senior Clinical Director
Clinical Director, Child Services
A Clinical Psychologist with a stellar reputation and over twenty years of experience, Dr. Frohlich was previously the Director of Psychological and Counseling Services at the Rosenbaum Yeshiva of North Jersey, and the Director of Guidance at the Yeshiva Ktana of Passaic. Dr. Frohlich specializes in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for children and adults (CBT) and enhances Achieve’s impact with program development and creative interventions.
MEDICAL DIRECTOR
Dr. Nissenfeld is a widely respected psychiatrist and clinician. He has a history of proven leadership including previous positions as Director of Ambulatory and Community Psychiatry and Acting Director of Addictions Division at Bellevue Hospital Center/NYU Medical Center. Dr. Nissenfeld is also a Clinical Associate Professor in the Department of Psychiatry at NYU School of Medicine.
Clinical Director, Adult Services
Dr. Jonathan Feiner is an experienced clinical psychologist, supervisor, and author. Prior to joining Achieve, he primarily worked as the clinical director of a psychology practice group specializing in evidence-based treatments for mood and anxiety disorders. In addition to his clinical skills, Dr. Feiner brings to Achieve his unique style of thoughtful engagement and training.
DIRECTOR OF HUMAN RESOURCES
Mr. Mayefsky graduated from Yeshiva University with a degree in Economics which he honed as a business development officer and branch manager in the banking industry. His passion for community brought him to Bikur Cholim (Achieve) in 2011. In the ensuing years, Mr. Mayefsky has played an integral role in Achieve’s growth from a clinic with forty employees to a Behavioral Health Center with more than one hundred and fifty employees and growing.
DIRECTOR OF INTAKE
Mrs. Genack brings experience and professionalism to the intake department. As the Director of Achieve’s ‘front door’ she plays a critical role in the first step of each person’s behavioral health journey. A former school clinician, Director of TMS procedure director and psychological assessor, Mrs. Genack is highly qualified and an invaluable member of Achieve’s leadership.
DIRECTOR OF SCHOOLS & CRISIS
Dr. Hartman is a seasoned clinician, with over ten years of experience as a therapist and Clinical Supervisor at Achieve. As a member of our leadership team, Dr. Hartman pulls from her wealth of knowledge and years of experience as a school and clinical psychologist to mentor and develop our team of therapists. During her tenure at Achieve she has grown the school-based program and has been instrumental in developing and growing the crisis program.
DIRECTOR OF INTENSIVE OUTPATIENT PROGRAM
Dr. Markowitz is the founding Director of the Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) for women at Achieve. She specializes in working with individuals with severe and persistent emotion dysregulation and mental health challenges. Passionate about programs and the research-based proof of their positive impact, Dr. Markowitz has developed the IOP, Teen Intensive DBT Summer Experience, Group Therapy Program, and a pilot ADHD curriculum for parents, schools and children. Dr. Markowitz specializes in DBT and CBT and believes in the transformative power of the group therapy experience.
DIRECTOR OF MONROE OFFICE
Mr. Singer is the Founding Director of the Achieve satellite clinic in Monroe. He brings more than a decade’s worth of stellar clinical and supervisory mental healthcare to patients outside of Monsey who are seeking top level behavioral heath close to home. Mr. Singer has worked in both clinical and supervisory capacities in outpatient mental health clinics as well as school settings. Passionate about behavioral therapy, Mr. Singer is experienced in both CBT and DBT.
DIRECTOR OF SUPPORT SERVICES
Since joining Achieve in 2011, Dr. Bitter has developed, implemented and currently oversees innovative support services beyond the clinical including: Peer Support, Psychosocial Rehabilitation, and Targeted Case Management services. These highly impactful, person-centered services, help clients improve their functioning with emotional support, practical help and opportunities to connect to community. Dr. Bitter is also a seasoned psychotherapist and supervisor. He graduated with a Psy.D. in School-Clinical Child Psychology from Pace University and trained at St. Barnabas Hospital (Bronx, NY) and the Clarkstown Central School District before coming to Achieve (Bikur Cholim) in 2011.
CHIEF INFORMATION OFFICER
Mr. Grun previously served as Chief Information Officer at the New York State Psychiatric Institute and Columbia University Medical Center Department of Psychiatry. As such he brings two decades of expertise and experience in behavioral health and research information technology to Achieve, allowing him to combine mental healthcare experience with current IT trends. In addition to professional experience, Yossi has a strong personal interest in the epidemiology of mental health issues.
COMPLIANCE OFFICER
Ms. Hager has been part of Achieve since 2006 serving in several roles as it has grown, including Administration, Operations, Human Resources and Electronic Medical Records. She holds a J.D. from Columbia Law School and B.A. from Stern College, Yeshiva University. Mrs. Hager oversees the integrity and ethics of all patient care; the core foundation of Achieve’s mission. Under Ms. Hager’s leadership, Achieve Behavioral Health maintains the highest standards of patient privacy, confidentiality, and compliance with laws, regulations, company policies and internal review programs. Ms. Hager is responsible for formulating, implementing, training and communicating Achieve policies and procedures, including its Code of Conduct across the agency.
DIRECTOR OF QUALITY ASSURANCE
Dr. Torbiner is committed to providing quality behavioral health care services to the community, and collaborates with Achieve staff to continuously implement and update quality improvement strategies across all of our departments. Dr. Torbiner utilizes her more than ten years of administrative and clinical trauma expertise to support healing through positive patient experiences. Dr. Torbiner is especially adept at using data and critical patient feedback to inform decision making, while focusing on the needs of the individual person to guide her work. Dr. Torbiner has a PsyD in Clinical Psychology from Yeshiva University.
